About

Coloratura soprano Holly Flack has a range that extends beyond an octave above high C. She has been praised as, “wielding an impressive range, effortlessly reaching higher than high notes” with her unique vocal extension (Inforum).

Ms. Flack has been performing in productions from a young age. Her roles include Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Serpetta in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen, Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Gretel in Offenbach’s Christopher Columbus, cover for Adele and Ida in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, and Peep-Bo in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. She has also participated in productions presented by the Bel Canto Opera Festival, Astoria Opera Festival, and Operafestival di Roma.

Ms. Flack made her International debut at the Trentino Music Festival in Mezzano, Italy where she sang the role of the Vixen in Leos Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen. Ms. Flack covered the role of Marie in Donizetti’s Daughter of the Regiment as a 2015 Gate City Bank Young Artist with Fargo-Moorhead Opera. She was also a 2015 Young Artist with Ohio Light Opera, performing Maggie Anderson in Brigadoon, Gabrielle in Can-Can, Mae in Oh, Kay!, and Babette in Friederike.

In the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she was a 2010 winner in the Kentucky District, after receiving the 2009 Encouragement Award, a 2012 winner in the Wisconsin District, and a 2014 Encouragement Award recipient in the Iowa District.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, she holds a Bachelor Degree in Vocal Performance from St. Olaf College, and a Master Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky, where she studied with Cynthia Lawrence.
