Bass Seunghee Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Lee moved to the United States in 2013 to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained his Master and Doctorate degrees in Opera performance in 2017.

Mr. Lee has performed such roles as Atzuko (Antonio) in Figaro 90210, Officer and Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Colline in La bohème, Figaro and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Officier/Jailer in Dialogues des Carmélites, Gideon March in Little Women, and Speaker in Die Zauberflöte.

Additionally, he won the Schubert Lied Competition, and is one of the finalists for the Soma International Foundation Inc. Lois Alba Aria Competition, 2017, New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera International Vocal competition, NY 2018, and Haugh Light Opera Competition, MI 2019. In 2019, he won the Butler Opera International Competition’s First Prize and the Audience Choice Award in Texas.

Mr. Lee received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Yon-Sei University and his Master of Music in Opera Performance and Doctorate Degree, D.M.A., from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Lee was a Young Artist with Chautauqua Opera

Future engagements include the role of Vaudemont in Verdi’s I vespri Siciliani with New Amsterdam Opera in NYC and the summer takes Mr. Lee to Berlin where he will be singing the roles of Sarastro and Speaker in The Magic Flute with the Berlin Opera Academy with a full Scholarship as a Festival singer. In the 2021 season, Mr. Lee will be singing the roles of The Armchair and The Tree in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges with Florentine Opera.

Mr. Lee lives in New Jersey.
